The 20th Annual West Virginia Challenged Sports Championships will take place in Charleston on May 7-10, 2014. Sponsored by CAMC’s Medical Rehabilitation Center, this years events include NRA Sanctioned Marksman Championship for Air Rifle and Pistol, Archery, Weightlifting, Swimming and Track and Field. This is a great opportunity for challenged athletes to showcase their skills and compete.

This event is also a great opportunity for Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students to volunteer their expertise. Volunteers are needed for all events and activities. They will be presenting their research in a platform presentation format during the WVPTA Membership Luncheon on Saturday, April 6, 2014, between 11:30 – 1:30 pm in the Ballroom 1 at the Stonewall Resort, Roanoke, WV.
Abstract Submissions Accepted: December 1, 2013 thru January 15, 2014
Posters will be displayed Saturday morning during the conference with 45 minutes scheduled for presenters to be available at their poster for a question and answer session.
There is a $25.00 fee for submission of each abstract from practitioners and a $15.00 fee for student submissions. Payment is accepted via PayPal. This fee assists in covering the cost of room rental for the poster presentations as well as the online abstract submission site. Each individual may submit a maximum of two abstracts as the presenting author but may submit an unlimited number of abstracts as a secondary author. If an abstract is selected, the presenting author must register for the Saturday portion of the conference and is responsible for the cost of meals. All applicants must be WVPTA members or be sponsored by a member. Please contact the WVPTA office regarding sponsorship.
